Deborah Gruenfeld

About Deborah Gruenfeld

Deborah Gruenfeld is a social psychologist and a professor of organisational behaviour at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Deborah is the author of Acting with Power: Why We Are More Powerful than We Believe. Her work examines how people navigate social hierarchy and handle their own power and powerlessness in everyday life. Deborah earned a B.A. in psychology from Cornell University and a PhD. in psychology from the University of Illinois.  

At Stanford, Deborah is the Joseph McDonald Professor of Organisational Behaviour and co-director of the Executive Programmes for Women Leaders and for High Potential Women Leaders. She speaks often to groups of aspiring leaders at all stages of their careers in a wide range of organisational contexts.
